Yamisi James is a native of Bronx, New York, but was raised in the metro Atlanta area for most of her life.  She obtained her B.A. from the University of Virginia in 2008, where she double majored in Sociology and Spanish.  At the University of Virginia, Yamisi served as a mentor to high school girls and took part in some of the school’s study abroad programs, including Semester at Sea, allowing her to travel to several Latin American countries.  In 2011, she obtained her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law where she served as a Notes Editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law as well as a member of the Black Law Students Association.


Prior to joining the firm, Yamisi served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable John E. Niedrach for Floyd County Superior Court.  Her areas of practice include negligence, personal injury claims and insurance issues.  In her free time, Yamisi enjoys spending time with family and friends, engaging in community service, and attending musical shows and sporting events.
